GPS is outfitted to this Motor Grader at our jobsite at Dacy Business Park in Kyle, Texas ensuring the select fill is spread to the exact depth. See the 2 tower outriggers on left and right of the blade, those give the operator precise control over the depth of select fill.
Select Fill is applied in 12inch "lifts" or levels. Each level is compacted, tested before the next lift is applied. Some park owners cut corners on select fill by only using 12". We are using 36" of Select Fill which is place on top of injected stabilized soil.
Since we are on the East side of 35 most of the soil is very high in clay content and you need to ensure it's stabilized properly. We used MLA Geotech to take core samples all over the property and engineer the pads to last for a very long time. Testing costs alot of $$$ but it saves you in the long run by avoiding cracked slabs or wavy parking lots.

Anyone ever see when they first Built Circuit of the Americas? After a few months the track became wavy and they had to remove 50% of the track and better stabilize the subgrade. It was also due to a poor water drainage under the subgrade but either way, never cut corners on your subgrade.
